Art shows
With nearly 100 works, this is the first monographic presentation of Indian painter Sayed Haider Raza in France, where he lived and worked from 1950 to 2011. S.H. Raza at the Centre Pompidou until 15th May.
Ukrainian visual artist Inara Bagirova shows her series of canvases with a unique colour scheme populated by monochrome characters in frozen postures. Trueboxes at Backslash until 25 February.
French contemporary artist Abdelkader Benchamma showcases his drawings that question our relationship to reality as they probe the frontiers of the invisible. Cosma at Templon until 18 March.. Also at Templon, Jeanne Vicerial’s showing her haunting sculptural costumes that look like sleeping bodies stuffed inside Victorian apparel in Armors until 11 March.
At Lafayette Anticipations, Au-Delà, takes us on a journey through works evoking rituals both archaic and contemporary, individual and collective, sacred and pagan; and ceremonies, gestures, objects, sounds and crafts connected to the divine and to the Earth's energy alike. From 15 February.
