Restaurant, art show and event openings in Paris to put on your radar this month.
Foodie things
Now open | Communale, a huge covered glass and steel hub with food stalls, a small market and events, has opened its doors on the outskirts of Paris in Saint-Ouen, not too far from the flea market (Les Puces de Saint Ouen).
9-10th March | Delve into the ins and outs of every aspect of coffee culture at the Paris Coffee Festival in the Marais.
Restaurant openings:
Now open | Chef Amandine Chaignot, who was at th ehelm of the beautiful Hotel Raphael in Paris, also behind the success of Pouliche in Paris 10th, has opened Nepita, her new restaurant at the slick new Hotel Florida.
Opening 26th |The restaurant all British expats like myself have been waiting for: Public House by Calum Franklin, AKA the Pie King, is opening on the 26th March. He’s bringing proper English food to Paris like Scotch eggs, trifles and of course, pies. I love it already.
Now open | Mojju, a pocket of Korean street food helmed by French chef Thibaut Sombardier.
Now open | Brion, a brilliant restaurant headed up by chef-to-watch Geoffrey Lengagne who whips up fresh French fare.
Now open | Double, David Israël (Dizen) and Tsuyoshi Yamakawa (Saturne, Verre Volé…) are serving up Italian pasta with a Japanese touch.
Now open | Café César, where Charles Boixel is cooking up modern French food with a sunny Mediterranean touch.
Now open | Lava, where dishes blend of French cuisine and influences from all over the world.
Now open | Superchina, a new kind of Chinese deli serving up saucy beef goodness
Now open | Historic restaurant dating back to 1686 Le Procope has just got a snazzy new decor by talent Parisian designer duo Friedmann and Versace.
Opening soon | Minore, now open as a fun cocktail bar will soon be serving food too under the helm of Katsu Okiyama of Abri fame.
Now open | Rencontre, a foodie pop-up inspired by revolving art shows is launching in the Latin Quarter.
Books
Now open | Yves Saint-Laurent artistic director Anthony Vaccarello has opened Babylone, a wonderful concept store that’s an art gallery and bookshop too (open Wed-Sat).
Out now | Star chef Mauro Colagreco’s new cookbook ‘Under The Sign Of The Moon’ is available for pre-order and unveils his unique culinary philosophy, based on the holistic experience, circular gastronomy and the cycle of the moon.
2nd March | There’s a feminist book fair at Ground Control, Paris 12 from 12pm until midnight, showcasing works from women writers all over the world.
Open | As part of her pop-up “Mise en Page” at the Bon Marché, Sarah Andelman’s teamed up with artist Jean Jullien, Korean brand Nounou and food agency Phamily First to create a fun café and concept store (until 21st April).

23rd and 24th March Le Monde’s M magazine is launching Le Goût du M festival, focusing on the notion of a ‘second lease of life’ across the realms of culture, fashion, design, and gastronomy from 23rd to 24th March.
