Paris calendar: What's happening this month?
New restaurants, hotels, venues, clubs, art show and event openings in Paris to put on your radar every month.

September
2nd Sept.-9th Oct | Catch Dirty Rainbow Rimbaud, a show of the works of artist and poet Ted Joans, an African-American poet, musician, and painter of the Beat Generation, at Galerie Pixi - Marie Victoire Poliakoff (95 rue de Seine, Paris 6th/Tue-Sat 3-9pm).
5-14th | Paris Design Week is back, celebrating design talent in venues across the city.
From 6th | Pantin’s Dock B venue is officially becoming a club with two nights a week on Fridays and Saturdays.
Until 7th | Silhouette Festival, the biggest short film festival in the city is back for the 23rd edition.
Until 7th | The Paralympics will be taking over and there are still tickets left for events like wheelchair basketball at Bercy Arena.
7th | High energy and house and disco sounds are on the cards at La Mona at the Bellevilloise with New York legend Victor Simonelli and Berliner DJ Philippa. Until late.
Until 8th | See some of the world’s best jazz music performers in the annual Jazz à la Villette festival, which kicked off on 8th August.
8th | La Cité Fertile in Pantin is putting on a one-day festival devoted to the celebration of North African cultures with events, talks and DJ sets.
11th | Radio station FIP is back at La Monnaie de Paris right in the heart of Paris with live DJ sets from 7pm for an immersive electronic music experience.
12-14th | The spectacular Invalides will host open-air screenings of Clint Eastwood’s Invictus, Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood and Martin Bourboulon’s Three Musketeers - Milady (book here).
13-15th | Festival de l’Humanité, a music festival that’s an ode to diversity and togetherness, this year’s edition features Angelique Kidjo, Jeff Mills, MC Solaar and more. Activist Angela Davis will also be there on the Saturday for a one-off session.
13-15th | See the Marais in a different light at the 10th edition of Les Traversées du Marais, when dozens of iconic spots from the Picasso Museum to the Centre Pompidou host various events throughout the three days.
14th | It’s the Hasard Ludique’s last outdoor event for the year, but they’re making it top-notch with some breakbeat from Baltimore, trip-hop sounds and lots more to keep you dancing from 12pm until 9.30pm. And it’s free.
20-22nd | If you’re still buzzing from the OG and you can’t wait until LA 2028, then catch the Carreau du Temple’s Food Temple California this month and get a taste for some of what the city’s got to offer without the wait.
21st-22nd | These Journées Européennes du Patrimoine, over a thousand venues will open their doors to the public. Have a snoop backstage at theatres and ateliers, and more.
22nd | Paris Loves Vinyl is having another massive record sale - pick up an LP for 2-10€ -at the Bastille Design Centre from 10am-6pm.
22nd | Triple BAFTA-winning British stand-up comedian Mo Gilligan will be at the Apollo for one night only for the France leg of his world tour.
23rd Sept-1st Oct | Paris Fashion Week is back post-summer, with shows and satellite events happening across town.
25-27th | Turn back time at this Ritz hotel auction at Artcurial 🔨, featuring 1,500 lots, including imperial crockery sets that Queen Elizabeth II may have coveted during dinner here and a tufted banquette from the legendary Hemingway bar. If only it could speak…
26th | It’s the last one of the summer for Virage under the flyover in Saint Ouen with Bellaire music and their crew who will be spinning some Frenchie disco classics all night from 7pm until 12am.
28-29th | Indie record store Dizonord is having a record sale at Hasard Ludique from 12-7pm. They’ve told us there will be about 5,000 records on sale for 5 euros, so get there early!
New places to eat & drink in Paris
Opening soon | La Baronne restaurant, within the majestic Solomon de Rothschild manor, is the newest spot to be added to Paris Society's hospitality empire.
Opening soon | Atica is going to be an immersive restaurant (Paris 5th) offering a mysterious sensory journey through time and space.
Opening soon | When three-star chef Eric Frechon left Epicure, his digs of 25 years at palace-hotel Le Bristol earlier this year, the whole town was left wondering who is successor would be. Enter the Michelin starred Arnaud Faye, who’s about to take the helm.
Now open | Retro, fun Super Huit has opened its doors, shaking up Paris 8th.
Now open | Restaurant hotbed St Ambroise in Paris 11th is about to get a new lunch and dinner spot. Opening in the spot of California-inspired Lou, Erso is chef Yann Placet’s first venture out of Michelin-starred kitchens on his own.
Now open | The Bao Family’s stopping at nothing to feed Paris its flavoursome home-steamed buns and other delights with a slick retro-style space on buzzy Faubourg St Denis in Paris 10th.
Places to sleep in and around Paris
Now open | Saint-Germain-des-Prés has a brand new spot, which opened over the summer. The 20-inspired Le Grand Hôtel Cayré belongs to new lifestyle brand Miiro, which already has a hotel in Barcelona, with offshoots in London and Vienna in the pipeline.
Opening soon | After opening its Amour hotels in Paris and Nice, and numerous trendy spots, over the last two decades, the Costes will be opening L’Aventure, a five-star hotel with only a handful of rooms and a playful design.
Opening soon | La Ferme des Vallées, a laid-back woodland hideaway of 39 guest rooms, will open at Paris Society’s fancy medieval abbey-hotel Abbaye des Vaux de Cernay, an hour outside the city.
Opening soon | The UK-based apartment-hotel group Locke is continuing its expansion with a first property in Paris, opening this winter in the Latin Quarter. Its 17th property, the cheery Jardin de Verre will have 145 rooms and a central open-air courtyard restaurant.
