Paris has been a slow burn for me. It took a good five or more years to really settle into living here after leaving North London, my home city. Even though I have French roots, have family in Paris, and speak the language fluently.

Since arriving over a decade ago now, I’ve been following whispers, chasing scents, slipping behind closed doors for titles like The New York Times, Guardian, Condé Nast Traveller, Monocle and others. My work as a travel and culture writer and editor has taken me on wander through the city and it’s allowed me to really get to know it.

Somewhere along the way, the city got under my skin to a point where I no longer wanted leave. In fact, I did a U-turn from hating it, to being convinced that Paris is the best city - possibly in the whole wide world.

And What’s Up, Paris? has become the place where I share all the things that make me such a staunch fan and local of the city, which I hope you enjoy reading about!

Why subscribe to What’s Up, Paris?

It lands in inboxes twice a month (around the 1st of the month and mid-month at the weekend), give or take. I share places to eat and stay that are worth your buck, as well as things to do, and mingles with passionate people shaking things up in the city right now.

For paying subscribers, there’s full access to the archive, blurbs on places I’ve tried, as well as little guides I hope you’ll find useful - the first is all my absolutely favorite restaurants in the city, (mainly because my friends are always asking for one 😉).

Merci for hopping on! I hope you’ll enjoy following along, and if you want to say hi, I’d be happy to hear from you (whatsuppariscontact@gmail.com)!
